Hutchison Campaign Announces Formation Of “Physicians For Kay” Coalition
Austin, TX – Today, the Hutchison campaign formally announced its “Physicians for Kay” coalition, a group of physicians and members of the medical community who support Hutchison’s candidacy for governor.
Dr. Craig Callewart, “Physicians for Kay” statewide chairman and a member of the TEXPAC Board of Directors, noted that support for Hutchison’s candidacy in the medical community is widespread, and based on her record of pushing for conservative reform in the health care system.
“As a TEXPAC Board member who was present at the endorsement meeting, I can attest to the broad support that Kay Bailey Hutchison enjoys within TMA and with physicians across Texas,” Callewart said. “To galvanize Kay’s widespread support from the medical community in Texas, I will be leading the ‘Physicians for Kay ‘coalition in her campaign for Governor.”
Thanking the physicians for their support, Hutchison said, “It is an honor to have the solid support of physicians and members of the medical community. I look forward to working with these leaders from the medical community as governor to improve health care and the doctor-physician relationship."
“As a co-chair of the ‘Physicians for Kay’ coalition I will be working to mobilize the support Kay has within the medical community,” said Dr. Tom Duncan of Lufkin who is also a member of the TEXPAC Board of Directors. “Kay has always been a friend of medicine and I know that as the next governor of Texas, she will continue to work toward improving healthcare and strengthening the doctor-patient relationship as the next governor of Texas.”
